Anita Anand, a journalist, radio and television presenter, and author, is a well-known and respected figure in the media industry. Born in London to Punjabi immigrant parents, Anand’s passion for storytelling and her strong journalistic skills have led her to become one of the most prominent voices in British media.
After studying at the University of Cambridge and obtaining a degree in law, Anand started her career as a radio presenter on the BBC Asian Network. She later moved on to television, hosting several shows on BBC and Channel 4. But it was her role as a journalist that truly showcased her talents. Anand has reported on major news events such as the war in Iraq and the Mumbai attacks, earning her multiple awards for her outstanding reporting.
However, Anand’s love for storytelling extended beyond the realm of journalism. She released her first book in 2005, titled ‘Sophia: Princess, Suffragette, Revolutionary’. The book was a critical success and led to Anand’s decision to step away from her career in broadcast journalism and focus on writing. Her second book, ‘The Patient Assassin: A True Tale of Massacre, Revenge and the Raj’, was released in 2018 and became a best-seller, solidifying Anand’s position as a talented and diverse writer.
